Robolympics 2012
Every year, CRUSH hosts a fun competition that sparks public community interest in FIRST Robotics. We also host FIRST-related workshops to encourage potential team leaders to start teams. Robolympics is promoted through TV and newspaper coverage, as well as a mailing to Arizona science and technology educators. It typically attracts 3-5 robot teams and 100+ visitors. Robolympics was instrumental in starting two new Tucson FRC teams (Vail and Flowing Wells) and has helped spread the message of FIRST and the joys of STEM education throughout the Tucson community.
In 2012, we had 5 teams competing in our SSA gym for our 8th annual Robolympics, and we had a wonderful experience! We hope to have an even bigger success in the future!

We like to say that CRUSH was the first FIRST team in Tucson, but we never wanted to keep it that way. Team members and mentors have started teams at both Vail Robotics (Team 1828) and the Flowing Wells Robo Knights (Team 1798)
We don't only start teams: we collaborate on a regular basis with the Basis BitBuckets (Team 4183), the Tucson High Brains (Team 3194), Buena's NERDS (Team 1726), the Flowing Wells Robo Knights (Team 1798), Purple Plasma (Team 2403), and The Coconuts(Team 2486) through competitions, collaboration during build season, and enjoying ourselves together at our many events such as Robolympics.
